Okay, forgive me in advance. The original design of this blog was to talk about exclusively about what is happening with me and my work as I launch my newest project BRUTAL/BEAUTIFUL. I promised my boyfriend I would not write one of those silly blogs gushing about my "feelings". (No offense to those of you who have them) I will guarantee all of you that the vast MAJORITY of this blog will be a place to view my work and find out about upcoming projects, but I couldnt pass up an opportunity to talk about my first true taste of Fashion Week. This year Valentines Day for me was more then roses and chocolate. It was my first chance to catch a runway show in Bryant Park.
The night began meeting up with some friends for the Pat Field show at her store on Bowery. Nate Freeman (www.4strokejeans.com) and I met up with my good friend Geraldine Laiz who decided to invite us on a bit of a whirlwind tour to introduce Nate and his new 2009 Collection to the fashion media. (Find out more about my friends at 4 Stroke, and their upcoming launch party in a seperate post coming later this week.)
We hooked up with Geraldine, model Jameson Beane, and Alyson Campbell of AMP3PR to mingle among the tranny fabulous at PF then rushed off to the Buclker Men's RTW Fall Show at their SOHO store. We had the opportunity to introduce Nate to a ton of great stylist and photographers as well as the amazing Kelly Cutrone from Peoples Revolution. This was a beautiful men's collection worn by some very beautiful men, of course. Here's a small sample.

After Buckler is was off to the main event. Geraldine invited us to the show for Monarchy in the tents. "Smoke and Mirrors" showcase Scotish plaids, bowler hats, and some of the sharpest jackets and sweaters I've seen in quite a while. (So, we'll forgive the Scotish plaids and bowler hats).

All in all it was a great introduction to the real scene of fashion week. But it's far from over! Wednesday I'll hit the tents for the 2009 collection of Alexandre Herchcovitch as an invited guest of Peoples Revolution. Don't know how I swung that one, but I'm just gonna enjoy it. More to come on this post when I have all the juicy details!
